All Cotag readers can read both active (long-range) and passive (proximity) Cotag cards and tags.
Cotag readers may be used with Siemens access control systems or with third party systems. Models for third party systems are delivered without any configuration. The onboard interface library supports popular Clock&Data and Wiegand interfaces. The interface is set using a configuration card. The distributor code/secondary code is set by presenting a Cotag card containing the valid distributor code/secondary code.

HF500 Hands-free reader
The HF500-Cotag reads Siemens unique Cotag cards and tags (both active and passive) which offer ultimate convenience and cost-efficiency. It has a reading range of up to 102 cm with an active card and 34 cm with a passive card. It can read through concrete‚ wood‚ glass and many other materials‚ but not metal. Although it must be mounted indoors‚ it can also read cards presented from outside‚ if the environment permits. (For outdoor installations‚ use the HF100 reading head & 5311 interface combination described below).

This reading head – interface combination is designed for outdoor applications. The HF100 reading head is mounted outdoors and connected to a 5311 interface mounted indoors. 5470 Integrated multi-function loop reader kit
The 5470 is connected to a wire loop installed around a door and/or on the floor, which provides an exceptionally long reading range of up to 3m (10 ft). This makes it ideally suited to health care, asset protection, access control and many other applications. The 5470 is compatible with all Cotag active and passive cards and tags.
A comprehensive list of data interfaces ensures easy integration with most host OEM systems. It is possible to configure multiple modes for Non-Discriminating (ND), Auto-Discriminating (AD) and Dual-Discriminating (DD) applications. The 5470 provides reverse polarity protection. Internal indicators show the status of transmit and receive circuits.
64 data bits, read time typically 400ms, 800ms when noise ejecting AVI mode selected, battery conservation routines. Impact-resistant polystyrene base and clip-on top cover.
